The function, officially called Resume, is now live for many users, but early hands-on testing reveals a glaring weakness: WhatsApp’s desktop app is often too slow to make the handoff feel instantaneous.

When a WhatsApp message arrives on your Android phone and your devices are linked via Phone Link, Windows 11 can now show a special icon on the taskbar. The WhatsApp logo appears with a small phone badge, signaling that an activity can be resumed.
