Electronic Arts (EA) has recently released Update 1.000.073 for Battlefield 2042, introducing the "Nordvik Returns" event and a comprehensive security overhaul.
The "Nordvik Returns" event reintroduces the Spearhead map, set within the Swedish wilderness. This map features close-quarters combat in manufacturing facilities and expansive outdoor areas with vehicle engagements. Key points of interest include the Forward Operating Base, Communications Outpost, Printing Facility, Materials Storage, and Painting Facility. Players can also utilize the new Specialist, Rasheed Zain, equipped with the XM370A airburst launcher and enhanced health regeneration. The event offers a Battle Pass with 100 tiers of rewards, including hardware, cosmetics, and player card items.
In response to ongoing concerns about game integrity, EA has implemented a significant security overhaul in this update. The company has transitioned to its in-house EA Anti-Cheat system, aiming to enhance fairness and reduce cheating incidents. This kernel-mode anti-cheat solution operates at a low level within the operating system, providing more effective detection and counteraction against cheats. EA assures players that the system is designed with privacy in mind, activating only when an EA game is running and uninstalling automatically if all EA games are removed from the system.
These updates reflect EA's commitment to improving the Battlefield 2042 experience by enhancing gameplay content and reinforcing security measures.
